Hoblio
Frequently asked questions
Is Hoblio free?
Yes. Hoblio is free to start with one hobby and ten pieces. Notes and use records are not separately capped. Hoblio Pro is an optional one-time purchase that removes those limits. Your local price is shown in the App Store or Google Play.
What is Hoblio?
Hoblio is a private, local-first hobby and collection tracker for iPhone and Android. It helps you keep shelves for hobbies, pieces, photos, notes, prices, daily ownership cost, use counts, and wishlists without an account or cloud sync.
Is there a subscription?
No recurring subscription is required for Hoblio's current local Pro features. Hoblio Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the free-tier limits.
Does Hoblio need an account?
No. There's no account and no sign-up. You open the app and start adding your shelf. Your shelf stays on your device unless you choose to export, share, send feedback, or verify a Pro purchase.
Where is my data stored? Does it sync to the cloud?
Hoblio is local-first: your hobbies, pieces, notes, use records, and photos live on your device. There's no Hoblio-operated cloud sync. Depending on your platform, app version, and operating-system settings, local app data may also be included in a device backup. You can export an unencrypted backup yourself and keep it somewhere you trust.
Is my data private?
Hoblio is designed to minimize data collection. Your shelf is stored locally and is not uploaded to Hoblio servers. Hoblio has no account, ads, behavioral analytics, or advertising tracking. Optional feedback, website requests, email, and store purchase verification involve the limited data described in the Privacy Policy.
What hobbies does Hoblio support?
More than seventy ready-made hobby templates — coffee, watches, photography, golf, mechanical keyboards, vinyl, board games, fountain pens, and many more — plus you can add a hobby of your own.
What is the daily ownership cost?
Hoblio divides a piece's purchase price by the number of days you have owned it. Use count is a separate record and does not affect the calculation.
Is there an Android version?
Yes. Hoblio is available on iPhone and Android. You can get it from the App Store or Google Play.
Does Hoblio have ads?
Hoblio does not show ads.
What fields does a piece have?
Each piece has built-in fields for name, brand, model, Owned or Wanted status, purchase price, purchase date, one photo, Notes, and use history. Hobby-specific details can be entered manually in Notes.
Does Hoblio identify or value collection items?
No. Hoblio does not identify items, scan barcodes, fetch specifications, authenticate pieces, estimate market values, or provide marketplace or community data.
Can I use Hoblio for a watch collection?
Yes. Use the built-in brand, model, status, purchase details, photo, Notes, and use history. Watch-specific details such as a reference or service history are manual Notes, not dedicated or verified fields.
Can Hoblio replace a spreadsheet?
Hoblio can replace a simple manual list when its built-in fields are enough. It does not provide custom columns or formulas, so it is not a spreadsheet replacement for workflows that need those features.
Does my iPhone purchase unlock Hoblio Pro on Android?
Not currently. Hoblio has no account system, so App Store and Google Play purchases are managed separately. A purchase can be restored only within the same app-store ecosystem, subject to that store's account rules.
